Arrive 2 hours before a short-haul flight, and 2 and a half in the 5am to 8am peak, which is when most of Bristol seems to fly. For a 6am departure from central Bristol that means a 3:30am pickup. The drive is only 25 minutes at that hour, the queue inside is what you're allowing for.

Why mornings at Bristol Airport are like that
Bristol's departures pile up between 5am and 8am. The airport itself has asked people to stop turning up five hours early because it clogs the terminal, but turning up 45 minutes before is the other way to ruin a holiday. Two hours is the sensible middle. Security has been expanded, and midweek it moves quickly, but school holiday mornings still crawl.

The 4am pickup, how it actually goes
You book the night before or weeks ahead, either way the price is fixed. The driver messages when they're outside. At that hour the A38 is empty and the run from town takes 20 to 25 minutes. Nobody's cancelled on you because a 4am job wasn't worth their while, because the job was booked and priced before you went to bed. That, honestly, is most of the reason people use us for early flights.
Flying back in
