Why this matters more than it sounds
Book an on-demand app and a two-hour delay is your problem. Either the car's gone, or a new one is surge priced at midnight, or you start the search again at arrivals. With a tracked pre-booked car, the delay is our problem to manage, not yours. That's the whole point of pre-booking for a flight.
Early landings count too
Tracking isn't only about delays. If you land 40 minutes early, we know, and we bring the pickup forward so you're not standing at arrivals waiting for a car booked for the old time. It works in both directions.
The 45 free minutes explained
The free waiting clock starts when your flight lands, not when you booked. Forty-five minutes covers a normal walk through the single terminal exit, passport control and the baggage belt at Bristol. If bags are slow, message the driver, who's waiting in the short stay car park across the road, two minutes from arrivals.
Will my taxi actually wait if my flight's delayed?
Yes. Because we're tracking your flight number, the driver's pickup time moves with it automatically, and the free waiting clock only starts once you've actually landed. A two-hour delay doesn't cost you anything extra and doesn't put the booking at risk, the car is still yours at the fare you booked.
That's different from turning up on spec at the rank or hoping an app has a driver free at the new time. The booking exists whether your flight is on time or three hours late, and the 45 minutes of free waiting runs from your real landing time, not the time you originally gave us.
What if my flight's cancelled or diverted?
A cancelled flight cancels the taxi too, free of charge if you tell us up to 24 hours ahead online, or by calling the 24/7 line if it's cancelled on the day itself. We're not in the business of charging you for an airline's decision.
A diverted flight, say to Cardiff or Exeter, is a case for the phone rather than the app. Call 0117 966 6666 and we'll work out a new pickup point and time. We've collected plenty of Bristol-bound passengers who ended up landing somewhere else.
The honest version
Flight tracking is standard with us and with most serious pre-booked operators, so it shouldn't be a selling point you pay extra for. What varies is the free waiting time and whether a human actually watches the delay. Ask any operator two things: do you track my flight number, and how long is the free wait after landing. If they can't answer both, book someone who can.
